Introduction of the Guest Speaker Lauren Taylor “Making Your Own Light”Nancy Evans [email protected] Nancy Evans gave an informative talk about the different ways to choose interior lighting for photography. She spoke about ambient lighting, the use of Speedlights, and diffusers.

There are some exciting events coming up in the next several months.
Rare Plant Sale on 10/12,13,14 & 15 , 10am-12pm at
43 Deepdale Road, Wayne PA 19087 The Rare Plant Group are GCA members from all 12 of the GCA Zones who enjoy propagating interesting and unusual trees, shrubs and perennials. The goal is to make these plants available to fellow gardeners. The proceeds go to Jenkins Arboretum. Masks appreciated.
The Zone V Meeting will be held 10/19 and 20/21. Please go to the GCA website, Zone V landing page to register. There is a 5-7pm opening reception and Zone V awards on 10/19 with the majority of the meeting being held on 10/20, with two sessions 10am-12pm and 1-3pm. There will be four guest speakers and a business meeting.
You will also find the WABI-SABI schedule and sign up on the Zone V landing page. This is now open to all GCA members to enter, so check it out before the spots fill up. It will be held on 5/5 at HVCC.
Rebecca Morley and Sarah Van Stone are working hard on the silent auction. Rebecca will report. An item for the silent auction will be two separate cases of good wines donated by members of both clubs. Please take a look at your wine and if there is a good one that you wouldn't mind parting with and making a donation, please contact Rebecca or Sarah VanStone .
The Conservation Study Conference will be held virtually on 11/17/21. Registration will be on the GCA Website.

Christopher Spitzmiller will speak about his book, “A Year at Clove Brook Farm”, highlighting the holidays. He has been featured in a myriad of decorating magazine’s with his highly sought after custom made lamps and ceramics. His Millbrook NY Farm is a feast for the eyes and his entertaining ideas are approachable and chic. There will be a $65 cost per person to cover expenses. WGC Members will be allowed to invite up to 3 guests each. Look for a paperless post coming early next month. Thank you Wendy Concannon, Jane Good and Ann Kelly for the planning of this exciting event.
WGC has submitted a grant proposal to the GCA Restoration Fund for relief $ to go to the Upper Dublin Township. Thank you, Linda Funke for writing the proposal. We hope to hear good news from GCA soon.
Another way to help with rebuilding after Ida is The Elliger Park Neighbors for Tree Replanting. There is a plan to replace and replant their neighborhood in Upper Dublin Township, after Ida’s devastating storm damage. You can write a check directly to “ Corbo Tree Service '' and send it to the EPNforTR , attn Veronika, 320 Bellaire Ave, Ft Washington PA 19034. Several of our members have been personally affected and every bit helps. They are estimating $50 for a small tree ( 6”or less), $100 for a medium (6-24”)( and $200 for a large tree ( over 24”). They have been working with the Morris Arboretum and have a planting list and plan. Any questions can be emailed to [email protected].
