January Zoom Meeting
Conservation: John Randolph, Founder Schuylkill River Development Council

Biography - John Randolph
Mr. Randolph has over forty years experience in the field of planning, design and project management. He is founder and former President of the Schuylkill River Development Council, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the revitalization of the Tidal Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. Under his stewardship, the Schuylkill River Development Council was transformed from a neighborhood grass-roots group to the Schuylkill River Development Corporation with a completely new board composed of corporate and government leaders. As a result of his leadership and vision, over $15 million was raised for Schuylkill River Park, which has in turn leveraged over many billions of dollars in real estate development projects as well as connected under-served communities to Center City. For more information, visit: https://www.schuylkillbanks.org.
Under Mr. Randolph’s stewardship, SRDC received major grants for strategic and sustainability planning which ultimately led to the transformation of the organization. His long term commitment and effective communication of the overall vision for the revitalization of the tidal river led to the award of the largest master planning grant ever awarded by the State. The Tidal Schuylkill Master Plan will guide the future work of SRDC by identifying both short and long term implementation projects along the tidal river.

In 2013, Mr. Randolph took over as Board Chair of the Schuylkill River Park Alliance to continue his advocacy to enhance access along the Tidal Schuylkill.
Mr. Randolph holds a bachelor degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters of Architecture from Princeton. He and his wife have two children and three grandchildren living in Brooklyn, NY and Berkeley, CA.
